LASR  Protocols | Laser Assisted Spinal Rehydration

News & Media

LASR is a non-surgical, non-drug protocol for the treatment of pain from spinal disorders such as disc degeneration, disc herniation, sciatica, pinched nerve, foraminal stenosis, arthritis, whiplash, carpal tunnel syndrome, failed back surgery syndrome and tingling of the hands and/or feet. Throughout the course of life, the discs in the spine gradually dehydrate. When a disc begins to dehydrate, it will begin to collapse. When the disc collapses, it does two things: the disc will bulge and or herniate out the side, and the holes where the nerve exits the spine will become narrower. Both these events will create what is referred to as a “pinched nerve” resulting in spinal trauma and pain.

1 | COMPUTERIZED DISC RE-HYDRATION

We use state of the art medical technology, used by medical centers in U.S., to regenerate a target disc. The creating of negative pressures within the disc and reversal of pressure creates an intradiscal vacuum that helps to reposition bulging discs and pull extruded disc material back into place, subsequently taking pressure off pinched nerves. Spinal experts believe that nutrients, oxygen, and fluids are drawn into the disc to create a revitalized environment conducive to healing.

2 | LASER (HIGH DOSE) ASSISTANCE

The therapeutic effect of this procedure is twofold. Firstly, the High Power Laser helps to soften, relax, and heal the discs, nerves, ligaments, and muscles through the process of photobiostimulation. The laser not only increases the circulation and tissue permeability allowing the discs to rehydrate more easily under the negative pressure of disc decompression, but it also increases the healing energy of each cell allowing damaged tissue to repair at a much faster rate than normally possible. Secondly, this laser application also allows computerized disc rehydration to be achieved more comfortably at a much greater rate by enhancing the relaxation and flexibility of the soft tissues. This provides a more complete restoration of lost disc space relieving pressure from the nerves and reducing bulging discs. The increased space achieved by the laser enhancement of computerized disc rehydration also creates a situation where the laser may penetrate deeper as it is less encumbered by bony structures otherwise obscuring the discs.

3 | PATIENT SPECIFIC REHAB

The importance of a personalized rehabilitation program as part of any treatment plan to address back, neck or joint pain cannot be overstated, and is widely accepted by physicians and neurosurgeons. In general, the goals of the rehabilitation program are to increase function and provide education on a maintenance basis to prevent further recurrences. This is accomplished by the introduction of a personalized rehabilitation procedures designed to retrain, strengthen and reconnect the muscles and nerves aiming to improve balance and coordination and to strengthen muscles that support the spine to prevent pain recurrence.

4 | BIOCHEMICAL NERVE NUTRITION

Specific nutraceutical protocols is incorporated to speed up proper nerve healing by reducing chronic nerve inflammation and to restore nerve function by optimizing the biochemical nerve environment

HOW DO I GET STARTED?
